first, you say that the nba is the 2nd most popular league and then follow it up by saying that it will pass mlb in the next 10-20 yrs.  so unless you're saying that mlb is the most popular league (which i know you aren't) then you did a complete 180 from one sentence to the next. 

second, the dunk contest was most certainly relevant 20 years ago as it was still attracting some of the biggest names in the game, not a bunch of hacks that ride the bench.

The NBA is the only league out of the big 4 right now where its stars are bigger than the actual league itself.

No one cares about the NBA. They care about Lebron and Kobe and Dwayne....Not the Cavs, Lakers, or Heat.


Out of the 4 major sports, basketball is the one where I constantly meet people from around the tri-state area who don't identify as 76ers (the local teams) fans, but as "I'll cheer for the cavs cause of Lebron" or "I'm a Kobe fan" etc


They've got big stars...but the league itself is an afterthought. NCAA basketball is bigger than the NBA at this point.

Nothing you just said addressed my post, which just shows that you know everything i just said about the NBA is correct.

I still haven't said I hate basketball. I have said, however, that watching it is a total bore 98% of the time and that the NBA sucks.
