I was never an avid Stern listener but I did find his show extremely funny at one point.  Over time though, his antics stopped being funny and started becoming redundant.  He's like the Jerry Springer of radio now imo.

We've all heard the stat that says most of Stern's listeners tune in because they hate him and want to hear what he says just so they can rip him.   I wonder how many of those tools will continue to do so now that they'll have to pay for it?

Just got Sirius and hooked it up and it's freaking great! Worth every penny and Stern's not even on yet.  :yay

With NFL radio & ESPN radio, what else do you need?  Oh, and the 80's channel is great for WAF (wife acceptance factor).
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

I was just listening to the Raw Dog comedy station and its freaking great.

Sports in the morning is where it's at.  Go with Mike & Mike...or a CD.

O & A on XM.  More funnier.  8)

More gooder.  by far.

I can't wait until Howie fails on Satellite.

Howard still rules.  I tried to get into O & E when they were on in the afternoons in DC but just couldn't.    Although one guy did once eat a bucket full of some dudes vomit and toenails for superbowl tickets.  that made me laugh.

When I had DirectTV they had XM radio as part of the package, I gave O & A a try but they were awful.

I got kind of sick of O & A, and I cancelled XM.  That said, I still think they're a lot funnier than Stern.

I get Sirius with DishNet. I've always got Sirius 27 playing.

what made you think they were awful?

i will say this, to give them a fair chance, you need to listen for a week.  they have so many call-backs and past references that listening for one day doesn't make much sense.

i listened to O and A when they were on wysp...i liked them. they were funny. and really were unjustly and unfairly fired. in fact eventually the FCC said there was nothing indecent about the broadcast (the act was illegal) but what they put through on air was not.

now? not so much. pretty boring on satellite radio same shtein over and over again, and i imagine stern will be. i always thought O&A were funnier when they were trying to get around the censors.

they are not funny enough to pay for by themselves (even above the normal subscription rate, where you ad that premium channel).

i will say this, i never laughed so hard as i did when they did the Homeless Shopping Spree a few years ago before they were canned.

QuoteRock legend Bob Dylan has signed up to present a weekly radio show in America. The hour-long show will broadcast on the Deep Tracks Channel, which is part of the XM subscription-only satellite radio service, from next March. It will be the first time 64-year-old Dylan has DJ'd on the radio. The singer says, "A lot of my own songs have been played on the radio, but this is the first time I've ever been on the other side of the mic." The show will feature "an eclectic mix of music hand-selected by Dylan" as well as interviews and commentary, according to XM. XM chief creative officer Lee Abrams says, "Bob Dylan epitomizes the American music experience and his unflagging integrity and vision defines everything we hope for XM to be."

O & A were freakin hilarious.  pushed it waaay more than Stern.  I still love Stern, but O&A were worse.

I love when they would put chicks in the hissing cochroach drum.  I think the all time best though by them was when they would call people and then play recorded talk from that psychic hotline lady...Cluey(sp?)...the " Call me now" (insert fake jamaican voice) lady.   They would piss people off, thinking they were paying for a psychic.   Some of the reactions from those recordings were great.   :-D

Anybody remember that?

I'm really getting pissed off with the growing trend of pushing delivery technology by controlling content.  I don't resent paying for satellite radio, but I do resent that the choice of providers is made for me by the content I want to receive.  Similarly with TV - I'd much rather have satellite TV (better value), but if I want to watch the Flyers or anything else on CSN, I need cable.   :boom [/RANT]

I listened to them for 1 week, thought they sucked but decided to give them another try. So I listened to them for another week and came the same conclusion. Thought they were really just...blah.
