Stern's going to spend the next 15 months railing against Clear Channel, the FCC and pimping Sirius for free.

In other words, the show will be infinitely (forgive the pun) more interesting to listen to than it's been in years!

Now, where's that dancing smiley when you need it?   >:D

Good for Stern I say.  I'm interested in one of the satelite radios anyway, now this gives me a better reason to get it.   :yay

I heard on the NY News that they're paying Stern upwards of $100 Million a year. lol...no wonder he's doing it.

So in other words he'll be doing basically the same thing he's been doing for quite some time now, whining and crying. :D

$100 million per year for the whole show, 5 year deal.

No doubt a huge chunk of that is Stern's salary, but not the whole thing.  Early pundits are already saying that Sirius' claim that they will only need 1 million new subscribers to cover the costs is grossly under what the number will actually have to be.

Zanshin

That is a tremendous amount of money.  And I didn't get the sense that he was hurting for cash beforet this.  Wonder what his net worth will be with this contract.  Has to be insane.

PoopyfaceMcGee

You gotta believe Alison (the ex-Mrs. Stern) is not hurting, either.   :-D

Imagine that!

There are suckers out there willing to drop money just so they can listen to a stale radio personality say farg on the air!

Somewhere P.T. Barnum is laughing his ass off! :-D

I'll say. I used to be a big fan, but the show just keeps getting worse and worse. First, Howard got divorced and became a typical celebrity socialite with a model girlfriend. There goes his "family man" quality. Then the show got rid of Jackie the Jokeman and replaced him with unfunny, fatass, Belushi-wannabe Artie. And since the Super Bowl he's done nothing except bitch about the FCC and Bush. I agree with him that the FCC's censorship sucks, but even I am so tired of the bitching.  Oddly enough, Kerry said he thought the FCC was right about Stern, and yet Stern still is obsessed with bringing down Bush. Meanwhile a few years ago Stern was begging Bush to invade Iraq and every other country over there. Hey Stern, try making your show funny again.

I don't know what show u have been listening too but since his announcement he has been funnier than ever.  Its like a weight has been lifted from their shoulders.  He has layed of the political shtein.  Artie is waaaay better the Jackie IMO.

Agree 110%.....

That's why after ten years of listening to him I just couldn't take it any more.  I haven't tuned into his program since the end of February or the beginning of March.......I'm tempted to put him on on November 3rd should President Bush kick Kerry's ass. ;)
