Saw a billboard (awesome billboard too) on my drive to work this morning for the season premier of "The Sopranos"...anyone else stoked for this to FINALLY be back? The new season previews looked awesome.

It's a good show and I'll definately watch it.  But they really kill the enthusiasm and continuity with those eon-long hiatus breaks.

I mean, last time it was on...I was in a different house, at a different job and didn't think kids were in my future.  It was literally like a lifetime ago.  I feel like I have to watch last season all over again...and I don't have time to watch prep-work.

...but it does look good.

I agree..the hiatus was way too long. With contract issues, the kid having legal problems, Meadow (Jamie Lynn) getting married....all sorts of stuff put it off.

Well, at least this season they won't shoehorn in some 9/11 crap.

That's why they're marketing the crap out of it.  My wife got a magazine last week.  When you open up the Sopranos ad, it plays the theme song.  Pretty cool...but it must have cost a fortune for that campaign.

AOL/Time Warner can afford it.

The Show starts March 7th...

PS....from hbo.com:

QuoteJoining the cast of THE SOPRANOS as a regular this season is Steve Buscemi ("Ghost World"), playing Tony Soprano's cousin Tony Blundetto. Buscemi will also return as one of the directors of the series; he previously directed the "Pine Barrens" episode.

I've always loved watching the Sopranos, but I can never remember when it comes on, so I end up missing alot of episodes, then I end up just saying "screw it". :-\

maybe this time I will actually get into it and watch it.....maybe.

General_Failure

I don't think I'm going to watch this season. It's been off for so long I don't have any interest in it now. :-\

If I ever gambled, I'd bet that if you watched a single episode, not even necessarily from this season, your interest would be rekindled.

i didnt really like the last full season they were on.

the 1st 2 seasons were superb. and me thinks it should have just ended there. go out on a high note in a way. i like parts of other seasons, but not as good as it's start.

i doubt it will live up to what it once was after being gone for so long. i dont care enough to watch it again, or to start investing time into it. heck, if not for this post, i probably wouldnt have even thought about the show existing again.

partially because i downgraded from digital cable, which i found to be a huge rip-off, for someone that barely watched tv as it is. i NEVER watched anything on some of those uber exclusive digital cable channels, and i dont think i watched anything other than 6 feet under on and of the 8,000 HBO/Cinemaxs. so i just got the 25$ package and signed on to netflix for movies...saves overall money, and the quality of what i watch is better for my tastes.

i'll just wait for the dvd's to come out before i give the new soprano's a go.

That worked for The Shield, but I was always more interested in that than the Sopranos.

Reminder that this starts tonight. At 9pm, not 8 like it used to be.

Can't wait! :)

I'm pumped!!!!!

There's going to be more whackin' this year.

Who do you think is the first main character to take a dirt nap?

I think it's going to be Paulie Walnuts. His straying to Johnny Sack's crew and talking down on Tony is going to get him killed.

My second choice would be Christopher, but I don't see him going that early.

Now I get to continue fantasizing about Jamie-Lynn Sigler. :spank
