Phreak, I agree with letting Garcia go. I actually like that they didn't re-sign him.  I'm just saying to someone "Make me an offer to stay" is basically the same thing as saying "Stay cheap, or good luck."  Which I thought was a little unprofessional, even though I think I would have done the same thing.

Bashing Banner for not signing the guy is just rediculous.  Garcia put himself in this exact position by publicly stating he wanted to test the waters.  Careful what you wish for there, Jeffy.  You might just end up in Oakland or Tampa Bay instead of a city that likes to win.

Bashing Banner for not signing = dumbass.

Sure Feeley can, on paper, do it all, blah blah. But Garcia, dishrag arm and all, showed something last year that this team sorely lacked - situational leadership.

And there are enough cracks in the "well-oiled-efficient-machine" facade to render their coldly calculated personnel manipulations and detached press positionings meaningless. If talent acquisition and game-day management were practiced better, maybe, but right now, no sale.

It comes down to how likely it is that McNabb will be ready-to-go come training camp. If he stumbles into the season I sure hope there's someone on this team who can not only play, but also fire-them up when the game-moment calls for it. One thing seems certain - we'll now only have one hope instead of two.

very nice. correct me if im wrong but money wasnt an issue w/ garcia. he just wanted the chance to compete to start. whatever it is, in the end,  gaylord fokker is in the circle of trust and will start no matter what
