Birdman reminded me of Donnie Darko. Overall it was ok

The Hobbitt was decent. First one blew, second one was slightly better...they cut out a lot of the stupid shtein in this one. I don't know why they didn't end the last movie with Smaugs death then jump into the battle of 5 armies in the 3rd one. The final fight seen is absurdly long...like 40 minutes. Overall it still blew just not as bad as the first two.

Want to see Birdman. Zero interest in any of the Hobbit movies. They just look soooooo overwrought and boring.

Same here on The Hobbit - no desire to see that. I feel the same about the LOTR movies too.

I was supposed to go see American Sniper Saturday night but got lazy and decided to stay in and watch boxing instead

Did Selma today with the wife.  Well done.  Poignant and powerful.  And yes, Igy, you'll be blubbering.

Gone Girl was pretty good. Won't ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen it but wish the ending went a different way.

i totally forgot about them

the opening "and im an actor" thing is my favorite moment of the year....the most self righteous unaware ego filled smug hollywood thing going. i love it.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

yeah I love that too but they shorted it so much this year....there was like four people usually its double that

problem these days is that there isn't enough movies that fall  in between being a small eccentric indy type film and/or blockbuster remakes of superheros comic book characters and  elfs

gone girl last year was one of the few and that was weak

I saw Birdman/Boyhood/Theory of Everything/Selma/Whiplash/Imitation Game.

Boyhood and Birdman were my least favorite though both were fine.  Whiplash was the best of the group imo.

the boy next door - had some gift cards so me and wifey decided to slum it for a matinee today...as expected it was hilariously awful on all fronts

1/10

I would disown you as a family member if we were related after reading that.

american sniper - i didnt see it as the republican propaganda the left made it out to be, but there was definitely a bit of unapologetic iraqi death in the film. the audience reaction is pretty sickening, but the film itself doesnt shy away from the reality. the biggest thing i can get my liberal soapbox about is the dude sees 9/11....then 2 seconds later he's in iraq. yea.

but brad lee cooper was really good. 3/5
