SportsRadio 94WIP announced today the re-signing of morning show host Angelo Cataldi to a new long-term contract. "Angelo Cataldi and the Morning Team" is broadcast weekdays from 5:30-10:00AM, ET.

The outspoken Cataldi is one of the most powerful personalities in sports radio, annually appearing on several prominent industry trade publication lists of top sports hosts. He has been waking WIP listeners up since 1990 and his show consistently is among the most highly-rated programs in Philadelphia. Cataldi is known for his strong opinions, honesty, extravagant stunts and events, the most famous being the station's annual Wing Bowl. Before joining WIP, Cataldi was the Inquirer's Eagles beat writer where he earned two Pulitzer Prize nominations.

"It's a true thrill and honor to know that all my years on the radio will be working for WIP," said Cataldi. Cool C, who was given the death penalty for killing a police officer in 1996, has been given a date for his execution.

Cool C has spent the last 18 years in prison following a 1996 murder conviction. The Philadelphia rap legend was given the death penalty when he was found guilty for the murder of police officer Lauretha Vaird in a robbery attempt assisted by Steady B, a fellow member of his rap group, C.E.B.

The rapper was initially scheduled to be given a lethal injection on March 9, 2006, but the governor of Pensylvania granted a delay on the execution. Cool C has now been issued a new date. His execution will now take place on January 8th 2015.
