He's proud of his activist hatred of spending despite being responsible for, you know, actually passing spending bills.

Friend of Barry or not, he's one of the main culprits of dysfunction in Washington and his departure will be welcomed.  His replacement will undoubtedly be no better and will likely be worse considering the inbred farghole state they come from, but still... baby steps.

Funny thing is that most military folk will tell you that the Dems hate the military. But most don't know that 2 of the largest pay increases in history were given by Clinton and Obama. Meanwhile, one of the smallest pay raises in history was given by Bush....and that was during peak years of the Iraq war.

Not saying Dems care more, because they don't. Both will send kids off to die if they'll make a buck off of it. But many of the quality of life improvements in the military over the years have been pushed by the left more often than the right.

It's deification versus pragmatism.   A lot of causes pushed by those on the left: attempting to at least discuss the horrendous problem of sexual assaults in the military, generally taking a stance which promotes discourse and less militarism etc is viewed as unpatriotic by many on the right.   It's okay to send people to kill and die if we treat them like heroes seems to be the working theory.
