trading resources for another homer-or-bust corner OF with 1 year left on his contract makes absolutely no sense. puig is intriguing, in that hes 23! 23! but hes crazy. i cannot see los doyer dealing him, so its moot.

get your mind off 2015 and on 2020. you do it with the sixers, who are an embarrassment, why not here?

you cant just be throwing around 100 million bucks to a possible platoon player because "its not your money"

if this was a once in a lifetime player then id say fine do it

it matters because if you cake this guy off and he sucks then you have tied up a position with a salary...the phillies aren't going to give out a monster deal to a guy and then when he sucks just say oh well lets sign another player to replace him its just money....its a terrible and untenable way to do business...even the yankees and red sox dont give out multiple 100 million dollar deals to the same position because one of the guys sucks....and when they give out huge deals its to proven players

throw in the fact that the phillies arent going to be good for years and years it just makes no sense to over pay this guy

By 2017 they'll be rid of the horseshtein deals and will probably in a positive position to contend again.  He'll be all of 26 then.
