QuoteI'm hearing from several folks that Chris Therien and Steve Coates will essentially switch roles next season: Therien to TV, Coatsey back to radio. It's unclear whether those respective roles will remain exactly the same – with Therien moving between the benches for TV and Coatsey up to the radio booth – but it sounds like that's the plan right now.

Rome

The 1980 Final is on the NHL Network right now.   I forgot just how royally the Flyers got farged over in that game.  Everyone remembers the Nystrom offsides but the first goal the Isles scored was clearly a high stick that the officials "missed."

QuoteSam Morin the 2013 Flyers first-round pick wore a Sixers snapback hat Monday, to show he likes the city of Philadelphia and the NBA. The 19-year-old from Quebec speaks with a French-Canadian accent and hasn't spent much time in the United States yet, but he tried to show off some knowledge about the city where he hopes to play one day.

He's up to 224 when he checked into camp this past week, was about 200 at the draft.  They're saying he's still fast on his skates, and at 6'7 thats a hell of a reach/speed/size combo.  I just want them to take it slow with Morin.  I'm not saying he's anywhere the skill level of Chara/Hatcher/Pronger but those guys were huge on skates, and it took them a few years to find their game.

DelZotto is a punk, but that's a good deal.  Surprised he was still available.

My only guess is that he was too much of a pain in the ass for the production that he provided until someone got a bit desperate.  And, since he still only got $1.3M, there weren't a whole lot of other suitors.
