eddie, bill, chevy, belushi, akroyd (was huge in the 70s and 80s) is untouchable...having billy crystal and martin short as midlevel seeds is crazy. gilda is a farging 6...joe piscopo was on fire when he was tag teaming with edde. but beyond that it is brutal.

because it was the snl of my youth so im always partial to the cowbell years. but outside of the 16 horatio sanz the 15 listed are legit funny and legit good actors/popular.

the simpsons marathon has reminded me how off the reservation seasons 3-6 were of this show

the awfulness of the current years have brought the overall series down to pedestrian levels....but that run they had will never be touched by any show ever again.

South Park seasons 3-10 are pretty much the pinnacle for me. There isn't one bad episode in those seasons.

Last season was strong too after a couple mediocre ones.

no doubt...i sat down this afternoon and season 6 (1994) was just starting and next thing you know it's 7:00. every episode is seriously so good. so many one liners that i've been saying for 20 years.  there was a whole episode about sexual harassment yet it was still hilarious. the conan years were amazing.

conan gets wayyyyyyyyy too much credit. he was writer for seasons 4-5. they were the 2 best years, sure. but he was just 1 of 20 dudes on staff.

people have to remember they were producing around 25 episodes a year. the wire was only 12-13. curb is only 10. its utterly insane how good this show was for that 4 year period.

Of course but you can tell that some of the gags came from him. It's the way he still acts. But also he's the most famous so those guys probably rubbed off on him too.

the poochie episode and the hank scorpio one are on today. i think the 138th spectacular (one of my favorites) was on earlier.

7th season isnt as good as 4 or 5 but its got some classics. really if the simpsons ended with s8 or s9 youd be looking at easily the goat non-wire show, dramas included.

the one where homer gets fat and has that little mechanical bird to his work from him was on in the middle of the night. thats probably in my top ten.

i love this show so much...it goes way to fast and the second it ends i wanna watch another episode...sure fire signs of greatness
