QuoteLos Angeles (CNN) -- Rapper Andre Johnson severed his penis and jumped from a Los Angeles apartment building early Wednesday, police said.

Johnson was seriously injured, but survived the fall from the second level of the building in North Hollywood, Los Angeles Police Sgt. William Mann said.

Johnson, along with his recovered penis, was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was being treated, Mann said.

Details about what triggered the incident were not available.

Johnson has been a member of Northstar, a Long Beach, California, hip hop group that was part of the Wu-Tang Clan family, according to the Wu-Tang Clan website. He performs under the name Christ Bearer.

His recording credits include "When the Guns Come Out," which was included on the soundtrack of the 2004 film "Blade: Trinity," according to the Internet Movie Database.

i was at coachella last weekend and it was surprise guest galore.

saturday night i was at the pharrell set, girl i know who works the festival told me not to miss him bc there is going to be some kind of surprise. couple songs in nelly comes out to join him. meh. few songs later, busta comes out for out two songs. cool. couple songs later, snoop comes out for a few. it was pretty badass. major lazer and gwen stefani also came out for a few each.

cut to about two hours later, i'm literally right up in the front for nas. he's the last set of the night around midnight. pretty much does illmatic from beginning to end. but about 20 min in, jay-z walks out and they kill it together for like 10 minutes. then later on diddy comes out but farg diddy really.

then the next day i'm at this little indoor heineken sponsored bar, wearing a wu-tang t-shirt, and fargin gza comes out of nowhere and just rocks it on stage for about 45.

sick weekend of music all around. my boy who was backstage also snagged jay and beyonces bottle of patron and we killed at it the hotel room.

they headlined the first night and it was fun as hell. crowd was nuts the whole time.

i read a few articles on the internet the last few days and the consensus seems to be that they they sucked, so it was either the fact that we got to see their first live show in 15 years or just the adrenaline of the first night or the massive amounts of illegal substances most people had in them, but everyone in my crew plus the other tens of thousands of people all had a blast. the internet is stupid sometimes.
