Yeah, it's clearly not as much of an issue as I thought it is.  Apparently, these companies have done the workup on gang affiliations and decided the risk is small/low.

The worst part of all this is they couldn't find a way to keep Vick. This whole situation is so stupid, but it would be so much more entertaining if they had gotten rid of a player for hanging around with alleged criminals while still employing an actual one. The NFL allows first-year coaches to start OTAs two weeks before other teams. Philadelphia's OTAs will begin on April 21, and Jackson probably made his travel plans with the expectation he would be ready for Eagles practice. Besides, Jackson is only missing Phase One of OTAs, which is two weeks of strength and conditioning and physical rehabilitation only.

That is why Jackson's absence appears excused.

Also, as far as DeSean Jackson goes, he told the #taterskins about this trip pre-signing. Expected to in town next week.
