Well I'm sure Comcast will spend a fortune upgrading Time Warner's infrastructure, especially in those areas where they're not competing with Verizon.

When I was out picking up a couple of things last night, I saw an entire freezer case dedicated to frozen white rice. Is this what we've come to as a species?

The case of the missing Malaysian airliner is fascinating...it has been two days and no one can find anything or even offer up a reasonable explanation yet. In this age of so many systems on airliners and with massive amounts of radar, sonar and satellite they don't know shtein.

The reported four people who boarded with false passports lends some credence to the terrorism angle but after reading it appears this isn't an uncommon as I first thought, especially in that part of the world.

Two of the tickets booked with the false passports were bought on the same day and have sequential ticket numbers which is odd.

But if the plane was bombed then it would have spread a large debris field. If it was hijacked then it wouldn't have disappeared from radar unless they nose dived it into the sea and even then the telemetry would have shown the descending altitude.

Plus, unless the hijackers/terrorists ALL died in the (presumed) crash, you'd think if it was terrorism that someone/organization would be crowing about having done it.

True. And I am surprised that some shteinbag group hasn't taken this opportunity to say they did it just to get their organization in the media...whether they did it or not the uncertainty allows them to make the claim for the hell of it.

Vietnam says they found a door and the oil slick but it hasn't been confirmed by anyone. That body of water isn't very deep so this isn't like Air France 447 that went down off the coast of Brazil in 13k feet of water (took two years to get that off the floor).

was in nola the last few days for a function where UA gave us a per diem to eat.  commander's palace was one of the best restaurants i've ever been to -- if you have $ to burn on a great meal down there, do it.

also saw a jazz funeral in the french qtr which was amazing.
