Foles needs another weapon. Teams focused on Desean and stopping Shady. If one of those players gets going it opens the rest of the O up, if they both get held in check they don't have another playmaker teams have to worry about. Maybe Maclin can be that other player, I'd still prefer a big fast WR. Foles is/was too worried about making a turnover. That's normal for a young QB. He either grows from this and takes the O to the next level or he's not the guy.

ice grillin you

i hope he proves me wrong and one day wins a lot of playoff games but im just not sold on him

hes not just not a running qb hes basically immobile...and imo hes not a good enough passer to be a pocket qb...thats in any offense...as for chippers offense i think you are lowering its ceiling quite a bit by having a sloth run it

Thought Foles stepped up the last 1.5 qtrs after being pretty zesty previously.  I thought they were going to score if they got the ball back.

Cox got destroyed all night.  Really both lines lost the LOS all night.  They did against Dallas too.

SD

Pretty much been saying this since week 1, but their biggest need is an edge rusher in the mold of a Peppers/Williams. You get that guy and it changes the dynamic of the D. They can address Safety in free agency. Byrd, TJ Ward, Hitner etc.

Free agents:

Vick, Maclin, Cooper, Thornton (RFA), Geathers, Hunt, Allen, Coleman, Anderson, D.Jones

Vick said after the game he wasn't coming back as a back-up

One can only hope. The sooner that clown is gone from the Eagles the better. I despise Vick as a football player ( don't give a shtein about him as a person, I don't know the guy and never will) and he needs to be gone. Henery too. The fact that he can't kick out of the endzone is deplorable for an NFL kicker. Chung isn't even worth wasting time to rant about.

Not sure if we'd be able to trade up high enough in the draft to get a franchise QB. Johnny Football and Bortles will be gone in the top 5 if not top 10, Bridgewater is another Foles, not sure if there's anyone else worth trading up for who'd be a better fit for this offense.

Lots of other areas (looking at you, defense) that need improvement more than the QB position. Foles may not be the best fit for Chip's ideal offense, but as others have posted the pure Ducks offense would get killed in the NFL. Hold on to Foles for another year or two while looking for and developing another QB. I'm not sure what more people want, yeah he's an average scrambler but I can't complain about having the #1 all time TD-INT ratio single season record, the #3 all time QB rating, the #2 passing offense (YPG), #4 in total points. Add the #1 rushing attack and I'm not really sure what more people want from this offense.

There's allot of people around here expecting some guy with the legs of Cunningham, the arm of Payton, the intangibles of Montana and the durability of Favre who will win the SB every season to just drop into our laps.
Three things can happen when you throw the ball, and two of them are bad.

Igy & Todd would still find a reason to bitch.

They'd make up some awful reason that the first SB wouldn't really count because it was against Andy Dalton and the Bengals.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Rome

Henery really looked awful playing defense last night.  He's personally responsible for the atrocious run defense and should be cut immediately.  Or killed.  Whatever.

BigEd76

Whoever takes Bortles is gonna be fired within 3 years

Watkins and Mike Evans will fall to the teens if the Eagles wanna trade up, but the WR class appears to be pretty decent after them too (Marqise Lee, Brandin Cooks, Jordan Matthews, Allen Robinson, Davante Adams, Kelvin Benjamin if he declares, and the two LSU guys Beckham Jr and Landry).  Clinton-Dix is the only safety worth taking and he'll likely go in the 15-25 range, and the top 10 CBs are all 6'0" and under, so any upgrades to the secondary should be in FA.  Notre Dame has a couple of DL that might fit here too: Louis Nix III (6'2" 345 NT, hurt all season) and Stephon Tuitt (6'6" 310, raw, can play both DE and DT).  Another OLB would be nice too.  Kicker is obvious but who's the next Hauschka or Gould?  They're all inconsistent.  A mobile QB to replace Vick will also be on their shopping list, and I'd like to see them re-sign Donnie Jones.  RB and TE should be the only things they don't need

Rome

And by the way... the continued bashing of Foles in here is just about the most laughable crock of shtein I've ever read in this nut house.   The guy was almost perfect all season but that's not good enough.  Absolutely ridiculous.

MDS

his success is more of a testament of chippers offense than nick himself

foles is by no means bad...hes actually pretty decent...but a mobile qb would send the offense to a different level, one it cannot achieve with the immobile statue it has now
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Rome

So the system actually threw all those touchdown passes, not Foles?

MDS

the system will make a lot of people better than they are.

foles is good...will do fine if hes the qb long term, might even win a title, who knows. but the offense would go to a different level if it had a kaepernick, wilson type....or even someone with a little bit of mobility like luck and rodgers

ice grillin you

lol at foles bashing

im not even so much looking at foles thru my eyes....im trying to put put myself in chippers shoes....you cant tell me he isnt sitting in his office at 1am every wednesday scheming his gameplan and saying damn i wish i had more to work with here...before chipper even begins to formulate anything foles takes away an important aspect of his offense....i think he wants more

elsewhere this offseason id look at upgrading defensive coordinator....i wouldnt fire billy davis and start an open search...but if theres maybe an up and coming defensive mind or just someone you really like target them and make an upgrade
