Dang guys, the closest Jones came to ceding control was hiring Parcells and even he burned out after a few years. He is dead set on proving that he is the driving force to this team's success and he won't stop until he proves it. The ghost of Jimmy Johnson has been haunting him for 18 years and it won't stop until he wins a SB again, which won't happen any time soon. He's a blind man with a Colt 45 during the draft, hits now and then but misses miserably more often than not. He overpays players after one good season. He signs mostly mediocre free agents to save a buck to compensate for his overpriced re-signings. He's a good owner but a crappy GM who wants to prove that he's a good GM and as long as the team is *somewhat* competitive ad he can say we're a player or coach away, that won't change.

I get so sick of hearing Jones' "vote of confidence" that there's a side of me that hopes you just kick our ass up and down the field. I wish he would disappear and just whip out his checkbook now and then like most owners do. Posted this on a Cowboys board when Jerryworld was still being built:
