My mom kept getting new phones and going back to her probably ten year old Blackberry, but finally put that down for Galaxy s4, and now needs to have the thing surgically removed from her hand.

The more I see Samsung mobile products, the more I want them.  Apple really seems to be stuck in the mud and hasn't really introduced anything exceptionally new or exciting with their phones or tablets in quite some time now.  I know a few people with Galaxy phones and those things seem pretty awesome.  Gotta imagine the tablets are just as nice and they seem to have the ability to multi-task where iPads pretty much only allow you to do one thing at a time.

I have the Note 2 for my phone and the Note 10.1 as my tablet. I really enjoy both of them.

I think that when I'm ready to upgrade my phone (currently have the iPhone 4S) I'll at least check out the Galaxy and other phones before going to Iphone 5/5S/6/whatever.  The downer with smartphones and tablets though is that if I do decide to go outside of Apple, I have to re-purchase all of the paid apps that I already bought.

Yeah, that's another thing....I like the continuity of having a Mac/iPhone/iPad, although that's not as big of a deterrent for me as having to buy new apps.  But it is nice having everything in 1 place since iTunes is an all-encompassing media manager for music, movies, apps, books, etc, etc.  For those of you with Droid devices, what's the program used to manage your device?  I have to imagine that it's something similar to iTunes, right?

BTW...iTunes has turned into a steaming pile of crap within the last year or so.

As far as apps go, I've maybe spent $40-$50 on apps between both devices, so it's not like it'd be a major expense to replace them, but it still sucks.

We have Apple everything now.  Don't own a PC or any Windows-centric (or Android for that matter) devices anymore so while I was blown away by the S4 I ended up going with the 5S.  It really is quite a phenomenal unit although I agree Apple needs to get its head out of its collective asses and start producing phones with larger screens.

The 5S still looks like the S4's retarded runt of a little brother and the fingerprint sensor is ludicrous, but the bread and butter of the phone (camera/picture quality, processing speed, internet connectivity, and overall ease of and continuity with existing apps, music/video/itunes) are excellent.

I really was thisclose to switching especially considering the Samsung rep at Best Buy was smoking hot and did a good job with her 15 minute run-down of the phone.

I forgot to ask if you guys are still using Square Trade for insurance.  I have a few more days to decide if I want to buy it and I'm curious if there's anything better.

I need to find an insurance company to buy a surety bond and general liablility insurance from.  Has to do with running a contracting business though, not protecting my twatty fargin' gizmo.

Any suggesttions?

I have the original Kindle Fire.  Great to read a book, OK/Good for most apps, a bit slow for Netflix sometimes, too small for internet (without my middle age glasses).  Two years ago I used it to watch a few Phils games when traveling and staying in hotels, but the Fire wasn't supported last year.  Overall I liked it a lot.

I actually bought the 8.9" version for the Fire HD for $169 at Staples.  Kids will inherit the original.  Merry Christmuskah to me!
