Finally hit it up yesterday on my way back from AC. Holy shtein, you weren't lying about the amount of meat.  Only complaint is that they don't have mushrooms, but the steak was really farging good on its own. Gonna be my new go-to spot when I'm in the city. 

I was wondering how the hell I never heard of them before, but I found out while I was down there that they've only been around for about 25 years or so (as a sammich/steak shop) so they were basically still upstart when I was in HS and I guess by the time they gained city rep, I was in the Corps and living on the left coast.

Good looking out on this though. Their steaks are farging legit.

There's literally 90 gazillion things to do in L.A. during the summer.  The fact that the Dodgers get anyone to show up is a testament to their ability to consistently field contenders.

This is the most tired argument for a few warm weather "glam cites" like LA, SD, or Miami. What can you do in LA that you can't do in Philly, NYC, Boston or Chicago?  Nothing. It's not like LA or any other city offers some great dynamic that other cities don't have.  The weather is nice(r). Because we all know that baseball isn't enjoyable unless its 95 with 70% humidity.

Girls are generally fitter and better looking.  And because it is warmer they wear less clothing.  And they don't have the traditions/fanaticism that the northeast has for baseball.

The fact that anyone from SoCal gives one shtein about sports is testament to how instinctually appealing athletic competition is. No one in their right rational mind would care one smidge about rooting for a sports team if it was 75 and sunny with easy access to the beach and mountains year round. Sports rule, but its pretty goddamned amazing that anyone between San Diego and San Francisco gives one shtein about them.

Never been to Texas (good thing), but I'm heading to Dallas first week of December for the Flyers/Stars game.

so i just recently got back from an epic coast to coast bender. went to portland for a 4 hour meeting and stayed for 4 days. got black out drunk with my boss's boss one night, when i woke up i thought maybe i was fired but they all thought i was hilarious. but super awesome city. lots of good beer.

went from portland to denver...saw bionic and had a mini high school reunion with two of my best friends and like 4 chicks that met us. game sucked (actually game was really fun, also we went to an octoberfest) but rest of the weekend was awesome. i seriously love hector and james. highlight was the bar that sold 40s and mad dogs. also blacked out there and lost my credit card. really fun weekend though.

then i went to auistin for 5 days for austin city limits. i know its texas but it was one of the cooler cities i've ever been to. in fact i'm in the process of making a life changing move and going there for a trial run over the winter. just got my lease breaking papers. i will be an austinite by december 1. probably be back east coast by the summer unless i love it. no joke randomly ran into 4 people that i knew from here back in the days, including an old ex.

now i'm back to normal life and it's depressing me. but i did go to the office for the first time in three weeks today and got ticekts to our suite at the verizon center tonight. i have an alcohol problem.

i watched the cowboys-broncos game in the middle of 10,000 cowboys fans at the festival and when the broncos won i seriously thought i was going to be murdered.
