Because the Democrats stole it from them, proposed it, and passed it, and now the GOP is scared shteinless it'll work and the Dems will get all the credit.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

It's abundantly clear the GOP wants nothing proposed by Barack HUSSEIN Obama to work.   The ACA was passed.  It was challenged in the Supreme Court and upheld.  The majority of Americans who aren't wholly ignorant iceholes understand this legislation, while imperfect, is a good first step to ensuring minimum basic health care coverage for all citizens.   It's such a no-brainer even moderate Republicans have given up the fight over it.

What this is now is a situation where a couple hundred imbeciles are holding 320 million people hostage with infantile demands whose results have no chance of being obtained.

If it's such a conservative idea why have the elected conservatives in congress shut down the entire federal government in protest over it?

because they cant have a black president succeed....these are primarily elder whites who are threatened by the changing demographics of the country...they have won one honest national election in over 20 years and it aint going to get better....so they try to stop coloreds from voting...they try and say the president was born in another country....they try and say hes a muslim....they try and say hes a Marxist...they try and do ANYTHING to discredit him...because their worst nightmare is that a minority president is successful...they don't hate the aca because of the aca they hate it because of the possibility that it might succeed...can you imagine after decades of both parties trying to pass health care reform and failing that a negro actually gets his plan thru and it works??

don't get it twisted a lot of them hate a black man being a leader of old white men but more than that even is that if a black president is not the worst president ever much less if hes possibly successful then there might never be a republican president again...this why two weeks after he took office they were all saying our goal is to top him from being president again...

What bothers me is he's neither black nor white, he's just both so get the farg over it. His plan was right in principle, it was passed thru 3 layers of the law process.  Its legit.  Is it perfect, hell no.  But it it a start, and open to changes for its first 5 years... I hope so.

I see you're not familiar with the Not One Drop rule.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

QuoteThanks to Texas' new senator, Dale Huls is out of a job — at least for now. Yet Huls has never been prouder that he voted for him.

"Without Ted Cruz this doesn't happen," said Huls, a NASA systems engineer who was among roughly 3,000 federal employees furloughed from Houston's Johnson Space Center after tea party Republicans triggered the partial government shutdown.

"This is something Americans have to get used to," said Huls. "Even if it affects your livelihood, you've got to stand up."

Jesus farging Christ on a cracker.  Can anyone this stupid really be permitted to vote?  Or breathe, for that matter?

QuoteWinds of Change.... Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise. In three days, most people in The United States of America will have this message. This is one idea that really should be passed around. *Congressional Reform Act of 2013

1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.  Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 12/31/13. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congressmen/women made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive the message. Don't you think it's time? THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS! If you agree with the above, pass it on. If not, just delete.

Boom.

Sure, give them even more of a reason to take kickbacks. That'll totally work.

Oh that would be sweet if that was implemented. Can you imagine the crying?
