Juan really was amazing.  I was pissed when he got traded to the Mets.

i was crushed....at the time he was my favorite player in the city...one of my first really clear sports memories was his rookie year and me wanting him so badly to get 20 triples...if i wasnt watching the game id get up and run to the newspaper the next morn to see the box score hoping to find 3B - Samuel (20)

Yeah... Samuel had the high-strikeout totals of the powerhitters (led the league four years in a row).   Todd would have hated him because of his low on base percentage and (accordingly) OPS numbers.  But he was electrifying to watch.

If somehow they had managed to keep Julio Franco and Ryne Sandberg...
