Now, Fox actually deserves credit here for covering something that actually matters. The kidnapping story is amazing, but it doesn't need live around the clock coverage. However, if the roles of the political parties were reversed right now, and Obama was a Republican and the investigation was being led by Democrats....I have zero doubt that Fox news would NOT be airing live coverage of the hearings, while the other two networks would still be airing the Amanda Berry story.

I like how the Republican narrative on Benghazi has become "They were trying to cover up the terrorist attack because of the election!"...when the administration came out two weeks later, still a month+ prior to the election, and said they confirmed it was a terrorist attack.

BUT...both this AP story and the IRS story are legit scandals if true, which it looks like they are. AP more than anything.

The Obama administration's civil liberties record is garbage. Far and away the worst part of his presidency and Holder is easily his worst appointee. The AP thing is a huge infringement, but is really only the latest in a long line of bullshteintery when it comes to privacy, whistle-blowing and civil liberty issues.

I'm less appalled by the IRS thing. Their methods (asking for membership lists, asking groups if their members intend to run for office, etc) were farging shady as shtein, and heads definitely deserve to roll, but at a high level targeting and investigating groups that explicitly don't want to pay their taxes for the validity of their tax-exempt status actually strikes me as an intelligent thing to do. Or at least a defensible thing to do.

Pretty much the exact same thing with the AP went on 7 years ago with the New York Times/Washington Post/one of the networks. Classified information was leaked and Capitol Hill demanded a witch hunt and got it. And it appears Holder himself was one of the people investigated.

That being said, it's still by far the worst of the three. It's Patriot Act bullshtein that Obama should have taken steps to repeal as soon as he was elected.

The IRS thing doesn't bother me as much mostly because they should be doing what they were doing to ALL of these groups, not just the conservative ones.
