perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

BigEd76

Supposedly it's James Casey, the FB/TE/QB/whatever from the Texans

Schefter says the Birds are one of four teams interested in Jake Long

Caplan confirms Casey is coming for a visit

Breer says Niners NT Isaac Sopoaga is coming for a visit and may sign

Rapoport says Jean-Francois is coming for a visit tomorrow

Caplan and Schefter say the Casey deal might be done tonight and LaCanfora says he'd be surprised if RJF's deal wasn't done tomorrow

I don't know who any of these players are.

Is this good news?

I'm especially interested in the NT...it's kinda important that the Eagles have a badass NT.

It'd be nice if they have a badass at any position, actually.

Sopoaga's best seasons were the first couple when Harbaugh took over, then he wasn't on the field as much last year.  He'll be 32 when the season starts, and at this point is probably a $1M-$2M/yr player, but he'd give them NT depth

Jean-Francois was the MVP of LSU's championship game a few years ago, doesn't turn 27 until November and can play DE or DT, but he hasn't done anything to stand out yet.  He'd be opposite Cox at DE if he starts

Casey played QB, TE and FB at Rice, was Owen Daniels' backup in Houston and also ran plays at FB and took a few carries.  Seems like a versatile guy in Chip's offense and can handle FB duties if certain plays call for one, but he wouldn't stop them from going after another TE

Thank you.  And what about Aubrayo Franklin?  Is San Diego letting him go?

Correct Ed.  He excelled once Harbaugh took over.  Was a descent player before, did his job but nothing spectacular but really played well when he become more of a situational player.  Did not now he was a free agent.
