I don't know about that but it's definitely Spielberg at his lowest common denominator worst. Ham fisted and lazy reliance on nostalgia and obvious attempts to tug at the heartstrings, all designed to trick the viewer into thinking their watching something special. It doesn't belong anywhere near a best-of list and the fact that it won the Oscar is an embarrassment.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

I opened the link, saw Starship Troopers on it, and closed it.

I thought Forrest Gump was creative, well acted and an all around good story.  I did think that certain subplots got tiresome, specifically his obsession with Jenny, but all in all, I thought it was great.  Like Havas said...MA as all get out, but still great.

I liked that she dies of AIDS too.

Zemeckis is one of Spielberg's posse.  The best movie he ever made was "Used Cars" which is truly hilarious.

The Jenny stuff just got tiring as the movie kept on....especially when he named his fleet of boats after her. I laughed out loud in the theather when she said she had a virus that the docs couldn't identify.

Agreed on the x country run.
