Just came back from watching the late showing at the IMAX theater for Dark Knight Rises. It was a little odd...during the shooting scene at the stock exchange, (remember the sound system at an IMAX is cranked up and you feel the bass in your bones)...as soon as the shooting began, it sounded so real...I couldn't help but keep my eyes on the exits and pretty much was imagining what an ounce of the Aurora theater felt like through that tonnage of nightmare. I must have scanned the front walk way and exits for a few minutes at least three times throughout the movie. It just felt weird.

Great movie...just non-stop action. I agree with IGY's analysis except for the fact that by the third movie in the trilogy...you don't have to develop too many characters and maybe that gives you more freedom with a thrid installment. Before they announced a third movie...I was hoping for the Penguin or some other character and felt Bane was weak (as a villain)...I don't or have ever read the comics...so I knew little of this guy but felt the actor did a great job at making him menacing...at the start...but he kind of lost it at the end...I didn't mind the voice either. What, was he supposed to have an Irish accent? His voice was fine.

***SPOILER ALERT***

9 out of 10. I think my rating is based on the IMAX experience and the movie kicked ass....EXCEPT for the ending.

But I guess it wouldn't be logical for batman to die during a nuclear explosion...I mean...who does that? Dies during a nuclear blast? Of course he survived and is in Florence banging Anne Hatheway.
I said watch the game and you will see my spirit manifest.-ILLEAGLE 02/04/05

Rome

Speaking of spoilers was anyone expecting Bruce Wayne to be a transvestite?  That really shocked me.

I thought they were going to pull an Inception ending for a second when the camera stayed on Caine's face and not show who was sitting at the table, which would have been genius but infuriating.

I think what they did with the ending was pretty perfect.

birders: the central park effect - new hbo doc about bird watching in central park...but really its much more than that and was interesting with some awesome footage of not just birds but lots of central park wild life

6.5/10

in time - awful futuristic movie with a premise (time being the new currency) that wasnt the least bit interesting and was horribly put together with a terrible lead in justin timberlake...just awful

2/10

I haven't seen it, but figured from the previews that it would not be good. Seems like a cool premise but it looked like it would be all downhill from there.

i watched it and thought it was ok.  it ends up turning into a bonnie and clyde/robin hood type of thing.  the premise and execution was cool.  the acting was average.  cillian murphy was in it but was poorly used.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

it was exactly like you imagine it to be...maybe even a little worse...basically it should have never been made

Amanda Seyfried is kind of hot.

i actually think shes kinda ugly but i was shocked at the niceness of her boobies in that movie...altho im not sure but i think a magical push up bra might have had a lot to do with it...either way she wasnt even close to the boobless girl i thought she was

im gonna kidnap you and make you watch the first ten minutes of that horrible looking hobbit movie

youll take care of the rest on your own
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Lock him in a room watching the Hobbit, with only a butter knife, some twine, and a RGIII jersey.

Bale goes to visit the victims of the shooting....top comment on reddit:
"I'd like to imagine that upon arriving at the hospital, he walked up to the receptionist and loudly grumbled "WHERE ARE THEY?!!"

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds
