I'm so sorry, let me rephrase

"Wow, 2 in a row! Maybe theyll make a run now. ODB looked good!"
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Like Rome said, Smug has to know that the season is toast. So rooting for them to lose is really lame.

Olney: "Source:PHI's forthcoming offer to Hamels expected to be in the ballpark that they know the left-hander will want, this close to free agency."

Rome

The season has been unofficially over for weeks.   But it would be nice to see them make a run just same.  Just get it back to respectability and then maybe, just maybe they have a Cardinals-like miracle in them.

Who the farg knows.   I know there's nothing on television worth watching until September so I might as well watch these iceholes.

Sgt PSN

If they reach a deal with Hamels, does Smuggie try to make moves to "try" to make a run this year or unload Vic/Pence/whoever to get pieces in place for 2013?

Rome

I hope they play well enough to be entertaining but I don't want them to play well enough to fool us all into thinking this group has a shot next year.  I know that sounds idiotic after what I just posted but the truth is this team isn't built for the next five years.  It has to be radically remade.  If you look at the lineup figure at least four of them are gone next year:

1. Rollins... 95/5 shot he stays (contract).
2. Victorino... 100% gone.
3. Chase... 90/10 again because of the contract.
4. Howard... 100% stays.
5. Pence... 10/90 he stays (I wouldn't mind him staying but he's going to make retarded money and he's not worth it).
6. Chooch... 100% stays.
7. Polly... 100% gone.
8. Goawayberry... 100% chance he's gone as a starter but he might stick around as a sub.

So, the only three guaranteed Phillies starters (assuming no injuries) are Chooch, Chase & Howard.  The rest are absolutely gone or are teetering on the edge of oblivion.  If Smug decides to start the retooling process now, that's fine.  Get rid of whatever you can and get prospects back.  That doesn't mean cut Hamels loose, though.  In fact I'd cut loose any other player on the team but him.  He's your bedrock and you build around him.

I'd be taking offers for Victorino, get the best one and wave him good bye. The Phils aren't going to get the return on Pence that they gave up. It was fun to mock Wade for that trade but Singleton and Cosart are ranked the #1 and 2 prospects in Houston's farm system and Domingo Santana is ranked 6th.

The Phils would be lucky to get a teams #1 prospect and another decent player right now.

He's got maybe 2-3 decent years left, his value will never be higher, and plenty of teams could use him. Considering his cheap contract, he would return more in trade than Utley and Howard combined.

I doubt you'd ever get what he is worth in a trade.

Rome

No chance Chooch gets traded.  There would be a riot.

ice grillin you

cant imagine chooch ever going...mostly because there is no legit plan for replacing him....plus his salary is so low it doesnt allow you to fill another spot on the roster....thus it makes little sense to move him

i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

MDS

There's Sebastian valle but who really knows about him

Id trade anyone who doesn't factor into a projected 2015 world series team. That should be the target year
