As much as we'd all like them to tank, get in the lottery, and let the young guys play, they're not going to do that while Doug is the coach. So Hawes was really the only option. They need a creative GM to get them out of mediocrity. The Hawks were in a similar situation for years but now Ferry has taken over and cleaned house. Maybe they blow this year, get a high draft pick, then sign a superstar in free agency next season. At least he has a vision. We're going to be stuck with the same squad and results from last season.

Let Vucevic develop and spend the money on a shooter. Or get someone to fill a bigs role in the inevitable Iggy deal.

Hawes is Mister fargin Softy.

No chance with Doug at the helm. I'd love to see them clear space, play the young guys, trade Iggy for picks or a young player, and build from there, but Doug ain't no rebuilding type of guy. They need to do something drastic otherwise we have to watch more mediocrity.

Also they're going to amnesty Brand, not a surprise.

Nice...looks like the end of the LouWill era.

If they're amnestying Brand and not committing money long term to Lou there must be something in the works.

what kind of game does Nick Young have?  i seem to remember him shooting a ton of shots, not always good ones
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

ice grillin you

yeah i dont call him nick young i call him top gun

hes an unbelievably streaky player...once in a while hell look like kobe then or the next eight games he will take shots that would have made stephon marbury look intelligent

hes better than lou simply because of his size he can finish...he also can shoot off screens little bit something lou couldnt do at all...he should be their go to guy in end of game sets and will automatically give them a better option in those situations than anyone currently on the team but in general hes a dime a dozen player

Philly, I appreciate you all. Unfortunately I will not be coming back, as an organization they decided to move in a different direction.

the best part about the brand amnesty is not even that it happened but that they have owners who are willing to throw away 18 million dollars....it may not sound like a big deal but there are a lot of ownerships in sports who wouldnt be willing to let a guy get 18 mil of their money for zero services rendered
