Believe it or not (Ripley style or Greatest American Hero), I've never rented a car before today. Do they mean No Smoking or are they just saying don't accidentally burn anything when you smoke in it?

Most places charge $250 cleaning fees if you bring it back reeking of smoke.

So, about a month ago or so, I was on the way to my car, which was parked in my apartments parking garage. As the elevator doors opened to my garage floor, I got a whiff of some potent buds coming from a stairwell nearby. Being curious (and maybe a bit more), I open the door and two kids bolt out of the stairwell and run to the lower level of the garage. I end up finding the kids hiding between two cars, scared out of their minds. I assure them that they're cool, and all I wanted to know was where it was coming from - I even told them if they were older, I may have joined them. In the month since then, I've passed him in the lobby once or twice, and he was quick to look away as if he was embarrassed or something. Fast forward to this past Friday night - I look outside my window and see a helicopter circiling the George Washington Bridge with a spotlight on the Hudson River.

Not so much, but it isnt every day you open up the paper and see the face of a dead young kid who you've seen a bunch of times hanging around.

but if you had been a positive light in his life.  if you could have said, "hey kid, get off the drugs.  go read a book or do some arts and crafts."  maybe he's not dead now.
