soul surfer is a christian right lifetime oscar award winner

IGY, finally saw The Descendants.  I was so busy looking for familiar spots, people I knew that had bit parts in the movie, trying to keep my 90 year old father updated as to what was happening plus the wife and son telling me to shut up I couldn't enjoy the movie.  Off to a meeting in Las Vegas next week so I'll watch it again on the plane.  The girls that played Clooney's daughters were fantastic actors.  Here's one for you, one of the actors who portrayed one of his cousins at the end, sitting at the table with he and Beau Bridge????  Michael Ontkean!   Yes, the Michael Ontkean from Slapshot.  Didn't have one line.

Have not seen and have no desire to see Soul Surfer.  I just looked at a book that Bethany Hamilton's mom wrote and thought it might be kind of cool to read with all my Kauai connections.  Holy shtein, thought I was reading the Bible.  That was only after glancing through the first chapter.   Give me more Grace Park!

I was wondering what Dennis Quaid's character actually did for a living considering he lives with his stay-at-home wife and three children in a beachfront house in Hawaii.

Also - none of the actors could surf even a little bit.  I was embarrassed for all concerned, especially Quaid.  From "The Big Easy" to that pile of slop.  Oy...

Got free tickets to see the advanced screening of The Avengers in 3D IMAX on April 25th.

Just like every motherfarger!
So hurry the farg up!
(Throwing things, knocking down the totem pole)

(Coming up from the billiard room and approaching the table and screaming at his guests)
Who wants to eat?! Who the farg wants to eat?! Go have something to eat!
 Hurrrrraaaaayyyyyy!
(Screaming)

(Screaming as he runs toward the driveway, gets into his car and drives away)

Generally okay for a pretty mature 8-year-old to see? Can't imagine it's much more intense than The Dark Knight, and he liked that.

8 Years old? Holy crap. It wasn't too long ago since you were here asking what name would be best for boy. Holy mother of god.

I said watch the game and you will see my spirit manifest.-ILLEAGLE 02/04/05

Perfect for an 8 year old. I'd take my daughter to see it and she's 4. Avengers might be better than the Dark Knight...right now I'd say it's a toss up.

Munson

Are you saying that as a comic book nerd type fan or is the movie actually that good?

I mean I can see it being damn entertaining but TDK was able to pull off entertaining and actually being a good movie.

I'm not usually into the comic book movies but I've wanted to see this since the trailers started popping up everywhere.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds
