yeah its a shame they had to get him after an achilles injury...hes not even close to what he was five six years ago but hes a big time upgrade and thats the key right now

maybe the most important thing about him is that hes one of the hardest working players in the nfl...this is key because hes gonna have to do a lot playbook and film study going from 3-4 to the wide nine...granted hes played in a 4-3 before so it not like a foregin language to him but its still different than anything hes played in....mini camps will be important for him

I think it is a little premature to say he is or isn't the same player. He is still fairly young, hopefully it works out the same for the Eagles as it did for the Saints with Vilma.

And I think we could all agree Ryans is a better player than Vilma.

right now he definitely isnt the same player...thats not in dispute

i think you mean its premature to say that he will never be that same player...which i also happen to agree with but i also dont discount completely

when vilma was on the jets i think he was a better player than demeco...he was more dynamic...but it was close....however pre achilles demeco was better than saints vilma

Yes exactly I think last year coming back from an injury and playing in a new system is too small of a sample size to judge. 

We will have to disagree on Vilma he only had three years in NY before they switched systems.

vilma was much more athletic...he was a sick cat when he was young...demeco is more of a downhill fill the hole make every tackle guy

in all their primes this is the comparisons id make...

demeco was a much better trotter

vilma was a not as good ray lewis

Did the cap increase already happen ?

I think the cap increase with the new league year 3/9 when free agency begins. It's not really all that much though, I think around 10 - 12M which for example wouldn't cover re-signing Bradford.

They are $30mil under. ... just wasnt sure if that figure included the increase already.

Either way, they're sitting in the middle of the pack for cap space this year. Hell, the Jags are sitting at $74 mil in free space right now. Everyone's getting paid this year.
