Dragon tattoo-

Meh. Generic story, decent acting, good directing, terrific score.

7/10
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Been catching up on some movies through the beauty of discounted premium TV channels:

Love and Other Drugs
Anne Hathaway is really hot, especially when she's not supposed to look hot. Oliver Platt is funny. I wish Jake Gyllenhaal would stop acting. 3/5

The wife and I watched this the other night too. Agreed on Hathaway. Didn't hurt that she was nekkid every other scene either. Some really funny parts in there too. I liked it.

young adult - i loved it. i am a giant jason reitman fanboy and went in with high expectations and it pretty much met them. some really uncomfortable scenes and the casting was spot on with charlize and patton oswalt. probably not as good as up in the air (nothing is) or juno but still excellent.

bucky larson - born to be a star. possibly the worst movie ive ever seen in my life. words can't even describe how bad it was. nick swardson is hilarious in real life but this was incredibly awful. if it wasnt for the brownies i ate this morning i never would have made it through. however, christina ricci actually looks like she is getting younger as she gets older. so cute. also, this just took me 10 minutes to type.

Checked this out based off this review and I really like Juno and Up In the Air. Young Adult was decent, definitely not as interesting as the other two movies Reitman did. But worth the watch.

Saw The Descendents with the wife. It was okay, but she liked it more than I did. The acting was good all around, but the story was pretty predictable and the score was a little annoying after awhile. I think I judged it a little harsher than it deserved to be, mostly because I prefer to see "bigger" movies in theaters and movies like these at home. Also, it was weird to see Kitty from Arrested Development in a regular role and without the wayward nipples.

I heard it was great...but it settled in at pretty good.

Don Ho

Clooney won The Golden Globe for Best Actor for The Descendants.  It also won Best Picture/Drama.

Read the book several years ago.  Same, good not great.  Still have yet to see the movie.  More interested in the Kauai scenes.  Old stomping grounds.

Gervais was pretty mellow last night.  His Jodie Foster rip was pretty good.
