Any other assumptions you suggest I make?

I need to convert a MP4 file so I can edit it in Camtasia. Which format kicks more ass:

AVI(xvid) Video
AVI(divx) Video
MPEG-4 Video
WMV Video
VCDFileType(mpeg1)
SVCDFileType
VOB Video file(mpeg2)

at work on my computer i have an icon on the bottom tool bar that allows me to hit it and go straight to my desktop

at home i do not have this so when i wanna go to the desktop i have to minimize 400 windows to get there

is there anyway to add this icon to the toolbar or does it depend on what version of operating system you have

You could try opening everything in new tabs in one window, instead of a bunch of different windows

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Need a little help here:

I've been living without music in my house since my last laptop shat the bed.  I ran it through some speakers that were just good enough to keep me from hauling out my stereo components and speakers from the basement.

Now I've done that and I'm very glad to have real sound again.  I can't believe I waited this long.

I have my CD collection still, which is a nice one, but it doesn't nearly match what I've got on an external hard drive.  Somewhere in the range of 80 gigs of music.

How can I push that through my stereo?  Can it be done without running a computer, or is there a device made specifically for this?  Are there MP3 players that will draw from an external drive for playback?

If you have 80gigs of music then buy an mp3 player with 80+gig of memory on it. Put music on mp3 player and plug into external speakers.

Munson

^^^^Pretty much

I don't think there's any other way of doing it from the external hard drive itself.

The only iPod that I know of that has that much storage space is the iPod Classic, which has 160 gigs and costs $250...but you could probably find one for cheaper then that on ebay or amazon

The Touch goes up to 64 gigs I think.

Actually, now that I think about it...can't you plug an external hard drive into an Xbox and play music that way?
