ever drive in canada?  fargers have discipline.  left lane is totally clear except when a car is passing and people always get back over after a pass.  it works like a charm.  but only because canadians>>uhmerikkkans

Yep.  Once you hit upstate NY or Maine its Left Lane for passing only, and the police will pull you over if you dont follow the law.  Bunch of iceholes around here that feel entitled to do whatever they want.

thats simply not true...ive been going to upstate ny three to five times a year for 35 years and have never seen or heard of someone being pulled over for such nonsense...in fact ive never even heard of the law...im sure it exists but its simply just not enforced....kind of like how spitting is illegal in nyc

highway driving in upstate ny is no different than driving anywhere else except theres less cars

maine i cant speak on but i highly doubt they have laws period

Rome

God was talking to one of his angels.

He said, "I've just created a period of alternating light and darkness."

"What are you going to do now?" asked the angel.

God repiled, "I think I'll call it a day."

I guess its Midstate NY, Albany area.

oh thats definitely upstate and is where i go but theres no 95 there or 85 and they dont enforce dumb driving laws

im confused as to how or why youd go anywhere near boston to get to maine and somehow be near albany

PA has the same law....left lane is for passing only and you can be pulled over for driving in it. Never seen or heard of it being enforced but the law has been around for a few years now.

PhillyPhreak54

PA still has 55mph speed limits too - time to get that changed. Although not all PA coppers have radar. Only certain specified traffic enforcement units for the locals (but all State Troopers do)...so unless they're set up to catch speeders or you're obviously hauling ass recklessly the locals won't bother.

I don't care about passing on the right and I do it all the time, especially here in Houston where the highways are packed. What gets me is the icehole in the left lane who is on cruise control yapping on the cell phone with a clear path ahead of them and I cannot pass on the right because the middle lane is full.

My father in law has made the drive up for the past 20 years, he's done charts on what takes the least amount of time and the least hassles.  I usually blackout on the drive at some point because its generally 13 hours of straight driving.  So in the end, its a law, most cops dont enforce it, but in maine they have nothing else to do other than escort moose off the road.
