thats my point, i was stubborn for years and refused to watch...and if boxing could get their shtein together i still probably wouldn't be into it. but once you see a few good UFC fights and the skills that some of these dudes have, you really start to appreciate it. it has the occasional snoozefest also but minimal compared to boxing right now.

and UFC actually promotes their fighters, they all know any of them getting big name recognition helps the sport.  also helps that its run by one organization and not split up into 97 different title belts.

so UFC is putting the dos santos-valasquez fight on fox for free on saturday night, same time as manny-marquez. interesting strategy. their audience will be 1000x bigger than arguably the most popular boxer alive.

It was hard to watch on the feed we had but most of what we saw was Marquez battling Pacquiao the whole way.  It was close but thought Marquez won.  Crowd unleashed their fury on Manny.

That was Marquez's win...if not for the *upcoming Mayweather v. Pacquiao fight.

Manny was fighting defensively. His left was virtually taken away the whole bout.

Good call J, we saw enough of it free although there were a ton of pop ups and picture freezing on the pirate internet feed.  Unless I had a shtein load of people over to watch I never would have paid $65.

Agree with everyone else...Marquez was robbed. Judges are biased scoring big name fighters, they always have been. I'm just glad we saw a decent fight, I didn't think Marquez would last past the 5th.

Compubox stats show Pacman threw and landed more punches for a higher connection percentage. Also, he seemed to be the aggressor for most of the fight. In the later rounds, Marquez's corner were telling him that he was leading the fight on points. Imo, the last three rounds when Juan thought he was ahead on the judges cards, he lost the fight. He should have taken it to Pacman in those last rounds.

I'll say this, if Pacman fights like he did last night against Merriweather, he gets his ass kicked.

yeah it seemed to me that manny got worked most of the fight. finally a good show and boxing still finds a way to farg it up. fun fight to watch though.
