Who really gives a flying farg what Avant says? Five friggen' pages of people whining about somone saying 'we', and an athelete saying he doesn't want fans to jump on the bandwagon or boo. The Eagles just put the beatdown on the Cowboys like there was no tommorrow, look like they might have finally turned a corner on defense and playcalling. Change the subject...please. It was more interesting talking what happens after hbionic eats a burrito.

I'm confused by "turned a corner on defense".  Stupid Shanahan didn't get Fred Davis involved until late in the third quarter, and thought Rex Grossman was a competent QB.
Dallas abandoned the run as soon as the Eagles scored their 2nd TD.  Murray averaged, what, 10 yards a carry on the few touches he had?

This team lucked out it's last two games.  Forte is going to serially anal rape this defense.

Yes, playing good defense is lucking out.  When the offense scores touchdowns in its redzone visits, teams will be forced to throw on us, resulting in blowouts like the one Sunday night.  When the offense doesn't score in the redzone and commits stupid turnovers, teams can slowly claw back and beat us like Atlanta and San Fran.

Drunkmasterflex

The Demarco Murray averaged that because he got some big runs when it didn't matter like long yardage situations.  The Eagles aren't going to be a great team at stopping the run that is not what they are built for.

Bottom line is if their offense plays the way it did Sunday its a moot point. It seems like the team is starting to fulfill some of its potential.  I won't get too excited until they are actually above .500

I like the fact that they wern't playing that nine wide crap, and went with what I think better suits the players on this D, which is man on man.

i wont say their defense has lucked out but lets not get our panties in a bunch because they beat a taterskin team who lost their two best olinemen early in the game and a dallas team who they jumped out early on offensively

the return of killa is huge as babin went ghost when he was out...lets see tho if this unit can make stops when it matters...close in the second half....cause they havent done that yet this year

as for the offense its all about turnovers...i guess you can say they are starting to show something...but it was one game vs dallas...remember they were hideous in the second half vs the skins...vick didnt just all of a sudden "get it" in one game...they just executed very well...it wouldnt be a suprise at all if he came out monday and dropped a three piece TO game with a biscuit...in fact i almost expect it...either way lets see three or four consective good performances before we say they have changed at all

I get it that it was one game vs Dallas, and if the Eagles are going to make a run at this division they need to win this Sunday and show some consistancy. They played what pretty much was a perfect offensive game. And no, I don't think they'll do it again, but if they can at least execute with the same consistancy as they did Sunday night, and they get the same effort form the o-line, they should be good. One thing that worries me igy, is when you talk about them having to pass more agianst the Bears, that makes trouble for the o-line because it's obvious they're much better at run blocking. If you can run block well then you should be able to do it against any team, and I have faith in Shady's ability to get by the Bears linebackers.

play action...move vick around a little bit...keep going two te as they did against dallas much of the night are all things that can help protection...i just dont know if they can come out and beat the bears heads up in the run game...i think thru the air is the way to win this game...the bears secondary is really bad

Alright, so I'm watching the first half of the Dallas game again. I'll admit, I'd heard of the wide 9 d, but had never really seen it. Well, watching this game again, it's like they didn't go away from it and go to man like I'd thought, but just tightened the hole up a bit. Looks like the secondary was still playing man covereage, but I don't really understand the concept of this defense. Please someone explain. Still, pursuit and coverage of the linebackers was the best I've seen from the Eagles in years. Also, the D line looked like it was getting a good push off the line, between that and the coverage Romo was lost in the passing game.

Rome

They've brought the defensive ends in more during neutral downs and the linebackers have played more technically sound in filling the gaps and not flying out of position like they did earlier in the season.

On obvious passing downs, though, the ends have still flung way out but having Killa back really has made all the difference.

I really can't wait to see if Graham has anything because if he does and he can spell Killa or Babin to keep them fresh, this could be a really solid line.

I just saw that Cole is third all time for the Eagles in sacks.
