QuoteAdam Schefter revealed on the ESPN Football Today podcast that Eagles WR Steve Smith and DE Juqua Parker as well as Colts DE Jerry Hughes were shopped at the trade deadline.
Smith will collect $2 million guaranteed as the Eagles' fourth receiver this season. Jason Avant is signed through 2014, so Smith will almost certainly be playing elsewhere in 2012. Parker landed in the doghouse after an egregious offsides penalty against the Bills. Hughes has a been bust since being drafted at the end of the first round last year.

So the Eagles signed Smith solely to keep him off the Giants' roster?

i highly doubt that....not the eagles style...plus does he look like a guy youd have to worry about playing against....they signed him cause they thought they could strike gold with a high risk high reward type guy and it failed....cant really blame them as its only money....it just didnt work out

juqua is in the cant play anymore house...only reason hes on the team is because the PP dept is so inept that in the last two years they havent been able to a single younger player worth keeping on the roster over farging juqua parker

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I can't remember where I read this but it was mentioned after the Asante comments; it was in regards to the "rift" he mentioned between Howie and Joe and Reid. They signed Smith and Brown and perhaps Reid wasn't on board with the signings so he's not playing them.

Babin said that happened to him in Seattle. Holmgren didn't want him.

Interesting theory, but those two haven't exactly lit the world on fire when they've been on the field.

They've been on the field for the two worst turnovers this season.

You got that right!

Giants fans were complaining a lot of picks last year came off the hands of their own receivers - maybe their was a shred of truth to it

So my four year old daughter is in preschool. The teachers told the kids if they wanted they could wear jerseys or shirts for football teams to class on Friday. All the other kids usually wear Steelers or taterskins jerseys. My daughter has a Jackson jersey. The teacher asked her if she liked the eagles, and she said yes. She asked her who wore number 10 for the Eagles and she said "pimp". My wife was embarrassed. I am bursting at the seams with pride. You all care.

I usually shout "Shady" or "Pimp" whenever they make a contribution on Sundays. The squirt watches the games with me and knows the players by their numbers, not names.
