If more defense were played, players getting "posterized" would happen a lot more often then it does. Those are the awesome dunks, contested, took more then the tall guy jumping a foot in the air. But when a guy is sprinting full speed down the court then doesn't even bother to jump because he's afraid the ref might call a foul if he bumps the guy...meh.

2 points is 2 points, and there's 20-40 of them made a game. The 10th point is no different then the 40th point or the 70th point. So there's just no reason to get excited about those baskets for me.

Not to mention that many of the rule changes are geared to favor offensive players. Just like in football with all of the illegal contact penalties....because a corner isn't allowed to touch a receiver after the 5yd cushion, does that mean he isn't playing defense when the receiver catches the ball 20 yds down field?

They are still playing defense, they're just limited in how they can play it without being penalized.

^^^Which, like I said, sucks. Dudes are afraid to jump up because god forbid they get within 6 inches of the offensive player and get the whistle blown on them.

Really really sucks to see the NFL starting down that road over the last few years. And, considering this is the Flyers thread, the NHL has been starting down this road too.

Rinaldo knocked out Doughty apparently, he seemed fine after the hit but hasnt been back since. Shannahan will give him 5 easy.
