So we might see Jarrett this week? He can't be any worse than Coleman and Page. I actually think Page would be fine as a back up but making him a starter is a travesty.

The Eagles defensive backfield has not played well at all. This D has given up 8 receiving td's, tied with Miami for the most in the NFL.

It's not so much the DBs (although they have been mediocre) as much as it has been the LBs. How many of those TDs were from WRs and how many were from backs or TEs with LBs in coverage?

Probably more than half I would guess, kinda' like the Brandon Jacobs td. I still shake my head thinking about that play.

That's the awful thing about Matthews. Even if you aren't an all around LB at least be half decent at something. He blows against the run then he gets sucked inside on play action and can't close the gap between himself and a 260 RB whose not as fast as he used to be.

That's what makes me cringe about Juan. He made a post game comment about Matthews sucking on that play but 'other than that' he had a solid game against the run. I know you have to stick up for your people but when you're a brand new DC you don't make asinine comments like that because people tend to take you at your word.

About the only thing I like about Juan over McDermott is the D line is better but I think that's more because of the talent upgrade and he doesn't use Cole in coverage and line up undersized DE's at DT on 1st or 2nd down like he did with Graham last season.

SF defense hasn't allowed a 100+ yard rusher in the last 25 games

And their D line is pretty average, amazing what good LBs can do ain't it?

Great coaching for the linemen, obviously.

I think that has part to do with it, for the most part I like the wide 9 against the pass. Against the run it's the most horrible thing imaginable with these LBs. You can't leave a hole, let an OL get a running block on a LB (which is a mismatch no matter who it's against) then expect your zesty LBs to make a play. It just doesn't work that way. If you're going to run that you need beasts at LB, not borderline special teams players.

LOL!! Ok, I don't want Sarge to get half the thread deleted again.

I don't have mod ability to do that.

No shtein. Still, if you complain enough it will get done like with all the Unitas posts.

I don't have that type of pull around here.  GF deleted it because it was an awful conversation and completely destroyed the thread.  Or maybe others were complaining as well to him via PM so he did something to satisfy the masses.  Who knows?  But I do know that it wasn't deleted just to make me happy.

Either way, you need to get over it.  Johnny U is gone and so is that terrible conversation.  Life goes on.

Kendall Hunter is starting for the 49ers at RB.

So he'll probably run for 165 and two TDs

General_Failure

Look, I don't like the linebackers either, but give them a little credit. 158 and 2 TDs.

Reid thought the Eagles ran the ball too much?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
