gonna start this late this year so hopefully there will be less people i have to track

also gonna intro a point system

2 pt for a correct winner prediction
3 pts for person with closest score
2 pts for person with second closest score
1 pt for person with third closest score (this will only take place if we get at least ten people IN)

cannot get closest to score unless you pick the winner

closest to score is the lowest number by taking the distance you are from the eagles score to their actual pts PLUS the difference bwtn the opponent score and their actual score

so if the eagles win 20-15 and you picked eagles 24-17 you would be six pts from the actual score

i will update and post standings each week

It will be closer than most think, I believe. The wide-9 scheme with Mark Simoneau's little brother in the middle + a stout trio of corners means that the Rams will gut the middle of the Eagles defense with Jackson and Cadillac (40 carries combined?).

The Rams will pound the interior of the Eagles OL with blitzes and stunts to confuse those new guys. I see Vick running around quite a bit and breaking contain more than enough to carry them to a win.

Eagles OL acts as the official welcoming center for the Rams DL, waving each in for their appointment with Mr. Vick.  For his part, Vick fumbles once and throws 2 interceptions when he has to hurry a throw.  The Birds' lone TD comes after a long scramble by Vick on a broken play.

The lack of size on the LB allows Steven Jackson to have a banner day, rushing for 125+, and Bradford puts in a workmanlike performance, riding the coattails of his defense and running back to an opening day victory.

i think rams will come up with the game plan that every other team this year will have against the eagles until they stop it...which is to dink and dunk against the piss poor linebackers and hit te's (and some wr's) down the middle against weak safeties

nice helping of jackson gashing them as well

on offense the dome will really affect the birds....silent counts with a new horrific OL is not a good combo...kelce will struggle mightily but my main concern is herremans outside on a fast track....thats the spot to look at to see how he holds up

Slow start, ugly 1st qtr.  Eagles start to pull away in the 3rd and force the Rams to throw more than they want to.  Celek has a good game.  OLine is bad but not a disaster this week.  Offense stalls in the redzone 3 times forcing 3 short FGs that convince you they'll come back to haunt them but never do.

5. there will be a parade in late october and whatever happens here wont matter that much
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Contrary to what everyone feels. Right as the ball is kicked off, everyone remembers the rams are the 'rams', including the rams. O-Line plays with a chip on their shoulder. Vick shines, pimp shines and gets a new contract before the beginning of week 2. Asante Samule gets a pick six. Nnamdi, well...it's just Nnamdi being Nnamdi.

The Eagles will move the ball downfield, but will be unable to punch it in. People will find this surprising for some reason.

The defense will play better than last year, but Steven Jackson will have his hundred yards rushing. He'll also have 150 yards receiving on 5 receptions. He'll leave at halftime from exhaustion.

The man. The myth. The legend.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Rams stay close for a while, Eagles slowly pull away. Wrap it up at the end with a late TD which will be a Vick rushing TD.

Going to be closer than it should. Line opened at 5.5 and has dropped to 4. That along with the home team in a dome and Andy Reid on opening day makes for ugliness. I think the Eagles win by getting pressure on Bradford and forcing a couple of turnovers, despite Vick and the offense out of sync most of the afternoon.

Vick throws two interceptions, one of them a pick six.  Shady and Celek score but not enough to keep up with Jackson, who runs in one TD and catches another.

A fresh Vick is able to avoid the Rams Dline for the most part and extends plays with his legs. He makes some big plays on the ground and in the air. McCoy is the man of the day though. Getting 80 on the ground and over 100 in the air.

Asante gets a pick 6 to seal it at the end.
