Her fiscal conservatism isnt the problem about her.   Everything else is.

Those of "average means" often don't have extra disposable income to invest in anything. Those of "average means" have enough money to pay their bills and maybe provide general middle class "luxuries" to their families(Cable TV, Internet, Cell phone)

But of course you are treating medical care as an investment, and not as something there to help out your fellow American citizens.
So you are admitting I am right. Those of average means when forced to subsidize those of lesser means don't have the disposable income to create or at least attempt to create wealth.

I am talking about investing in publicly traded health care companies. I made a pile of cash on Pharmas back in the 90's.

Who of average means is being forced to subsidize those of lesser means?
The only reason why that might be happening is pointed out in the Buffet article....the tax code has been skewed so that those paying the highest marginal rates are not the wealthy, but those in the middle. A flat tax would not fix that problem.

Those of average means (44K median household income in the US) have no money to invest because they are paying their bills and supporting their families. I'm one of those people in the "average means" territory. Try raising a child on 44K and then having money left over to invest.....Yeah, doesn't happen.
Your money is being confiscated by the government, not by the wealthy.

Munson

And you are a fool if you think those two entities are not one in the same right now. Which was the point of the Buffet article and the need to reform the tax code.....

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Rome

LOL at the evil government stealing your money.

Idiot.

Which was my point that I made on there as well. As another put it, admirable qualities doesn't take the batshtein crazy away.

I was reading around yesterday about the heroes of Flight 93 and found out one of the main guys was gay.

Conservatives love them some 9/11 Hereos, but also love them some non-homo marriage. I would like to see how Bachmann would respond if she found out she wouldn't allow a 9/11 hero to get married because of who he was.

She'd probably say that he prayed away the gay during the descent.

Quote''We need to have profound compassion for the people who are dealing with the very real issue of sexual dysfunction in their life, and sexual identity disorders. This is a very real issue. It's not funny, it's sad. Any of you who have members of your family that are in the lifestyle-we have a member of our family that is. This is not funny. It's a very sad life. It's part of Satan, I think, to say this is gay. It's anything but gay. Because if you're involved in the gay and lesbian lifestyle, it's bondage. Personal bondage, personal despair and personal enslavement. And that's why this is so dangerous.''

How can anyone of good conscience vote for someone like that?

Or this...

QuoteGov. Rick Perry, a devout Christian, is calling on all Texans to pray for rain as most of the state battles an extreme and exceptional drought.

Perry has proclaimed a three-day period, from Friday to Sunday, as Days of Prayer for Rain in the state.

"I urge Texans of all faiths and traditions to offer prayers on that day for the healing of our land, the rebuilding of our communities and the restoration of our normal way of life," he wrote in the proclamation.

An elected official in a secular political office uses his position to encourage his constituents to pray for God to provide rain.

Yeah, not crazy at all.  Perfectly sound and reasonable.

The guy called for Texas to secede from the union awhile back.

He is batshtein crazy.

Perry/Bachmann ticket?

General_Failure

To be fair, the US would probably be better off without Texas.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Part of me would think that would nearly cinch an Obama second term.  The way this country is trending, though, I'm not completely certain.

Folks are getting desperate.
