Better than a thread that devolves into a circle jerk of horrible jokes, sir.

No, it's really not.  It's more akin to the exact same two jokes being repeated over and over again.  And you are one of the jokes.

I skipped reading three new pages of this thread once I ascertained that Shady wasn't shot, arrested, injured in practice, or signed an extension.  The rest is likely a bunch of stupid bickering over nothing.  farg you all.

hey you started this shtein. I was fine with stopping it at "the end." now it went from finesse, to power, to 4.5 combine times, to elite, to arian foster, to mark twain, to the ceremonial dio giving everyone the middle finger. Id say the thread is right on par with CF.

Nice article about McCoy. I like Kirwin, on the radio he does a better job than just about anyone on TV.

QuoteThere are four Eagles who made the list of NFL Network's Top 100 Players of 2011 and unfortunately LeSean McCoy is not one of them. NFL.com's Pat Kirwan has a "problem with that."

A former NFL coach and personnel executive, Kirwan is ranking the best players at each position in the league and has tabbed the dynamic McCoy as the eighth-best back in all of football. Kirwan has McCoy ranked ahead of Pro Bowl players like Baltimore's Ray Rice and San Francisco's Frank Gore among many others. There are 10 running backs and a fullback on the NFL Network Top 100 list, which was determined by a vote of the players. Kirwan is such a fan of McCoy that he wrote an entire story dedicated to "champion" the cause for McCoy's inclusion on the list.

First, Kirwan noted that McCoy had an explosive run rate of one every 7.3 carries in 2010. An explosive run is one of more than 10 yards. Kansas City's Jamaal Charles had one every five attempts, which was the best in the NFL. McCoy's rate was better than NFL rushing champ Arian Foster, Adrian Peterson, Chris Johnson, Maurice Jones-Drew and Steven Jackson.

Kirwan then argued that the modern running back must do more than just run in-between the tackles. He must be able to catch the ball out of the backfield as well. McCoy was first among all running backs with 78 catches and fourth in the league overall in yards from scrimmage. Every time McCoy touched the ball, he gained 5.86 yards. Kirwan compared that to Johnson who averaged 4.46 yards per touch. In fact, Johnson had fewer total yards and even one fewer touchdown than McCoy.

McCoy goes under the radar with the likes of Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson on this team. There also isn't a way to measure heart after McCoy played through a cracked rib in the game against Washington as well as the following week's win in San Francisco. McCoy has continued the legacy of great starting running backs in Philadelphia and is only about to enter his third NFL season in 2011.

ice grillin you

mccoy is a product of the eagles system imo...not that theres anything wrong with that as hes producing at a high level but ray rice would be all nfl in this offense and theres many players who could duplicate shadys numbers in this system
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

I agree, if by in this system you mean a team with a terrible offensive line that doesn't run the ball

ice grillin you

i was more saying that any rb who can catch the ball can run even a little bit and can pick up a blitz is going to put up numbers in philly as the offense gives you ample opportunitys to put up numbers if you are a tailback

Don't take anything away from Shady...he's a bona fide NFL starter..any team would be delighted to have him.

There are 2 "elite" backs in the NFL, everyone else is WAY behind.
