California's vehicle registration cost is insane.  My truck, a 2004 Tundra, costs a California resident over $500/year for registration.  Luckily for me, I get military exemption and got the price reduced to like $125.....which is still nuts.  I don't think I paid more than $40 or $50/year in PA and roughly the same in NC and MO.

Seriously though....$500 a year?  I make decent money and I don't think I could afford that unless I went sober for a month.  No idea how the hell lower income folks do it.

$65 for me down here. Inspection is only $33 though ($10 for inspection + $23 for emissions).

Back in PA the registration was cheap and the inspection expensive, if I recall right.

So a DPS Trooper got you, Todd?

it was a city cop on his little moped...speed trap bullshtein at the end of the month to get his quotas up. its a wide open road that for some reason is a 30 and i was going (he says) 42. im on that road everyday and its the first time i got pulled over let alone saw a cop.

for me it was $25 to "paco" to get inspection (my car would not pass inspection legitimately), then something like 160 to register the car and get the plates and all that. each year its going to be i think 65, which i guess is the same as it is in houston. they said it was that much because of the border costs, but i guess its just that dick rick perry squeezing money out of us.

combine that with the 2 different court stops and it might have been easier to just pay the 200 for the speeding ticket.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

to get his quotas up.

Cops don't have quotas.

Quoteits the first time i got pulled over let alone saw a cop.

It would make a lot more sense if you flipped that so it reads "it's the fist time I saw a cop, let alone get pulled over."

$36 for my car and something like $59 or $79 for inspection/emissions

hey, let's all post how much we pay to register our cars and get them inspected

I can't wait until we move on to comparing our parking ticket rates

It's posts like this that make it really hard for me to be happy for you being happy about having Shellac tickets.  Hard, but not impossible.  I'm happy for you.

PS....when is your registration due?  Do you mail it in or do it online now?  Give us detailed play by play when it's time.

Dick.

This is hell. We've all been judged and this is where we ended up. CF. Talking about car registration. With a mule.

My motorcycle registration was due on the 21st and I didn't pay it.  I've let the insurance lapse as well.  Former was 90 bucks for two years.  latter, 180 for one year.  I'm going to sell it.  Can't keep both motorcycles I'm not riding, and I'll never sell the yellow one, so that's that.

Her car was 190 re-registration for 2 years in April.  Mine is due in October, will be similar.  Neither car needs inspection, but smog testing is due on each soon, and will run 40 or so each, if I remember correctly.

My car is eligible for historic tags now...which might be worth swapping for so that I don't have to get smog tested and I can pollute freely---farg you and the air you breath--but I probably won't bother because I have errands to do.  Like taking it to get smog tested.

Happy now, bitch?
