Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

QuotePenalties called after the player crosses the goal line still will be assessed on those plays, but live-ball fouls will be assessed at the spot of the foul and eliminate the score.

Whether or not you like or dislike the taunting penalty is one thing, but this rule makes sense.  Taunt before the endzone and the penalty is enforced at the spot of the foul just the same as say a facemask or illegal block would be.

The NCAA is entireley too anal about what it considers taunting, but that's neither here nor there in regards to this particular rule change.

MDS

just wait until a game is decided because one ref determined that some act was a taunt when the same thing happened a week earlier and it wasnt called

a hold is a hold a facemask is a facemask. taunting is sort of you know it when you see it and everyone has their only little trigger for that.

I agree...but your problem is with the taunting rule itself.  As for this new rule, it's hard to argue against the logic behind it.

DH

im getting real tired of AD's like central arkansas' who are only trying to make a name for themselves by changing the turf on its field. gdammit, footbal is played on green grass or green fake grass. thats it.

Sgt PSN

What about Boise St?  They've had that blue field for like 20+ years now, right?

umass to the mac in 2012

most likely they agreed to the move because temple is going to be in there for awhile

if delaware grows a pair of balls, maybe we can form some kind of reject east coast conference, maybe even getting nova by letting them use the soccer stadium in chester (which appears to be the deal breaker for them in the big east). add in buffalo and some random ass florida schools and have some fun.

so you want to make the big east even worse than it already is? also, im not even sure i knew umass had football.

MDS

lol

i want to make a worse version of the big east. no one will leave a decent conference for my pretend conference, so its all about getting east coast AA schools to move up and stealing teams from the sun belt and mac.

its basically instead of playing toledo and direction michigan schools, wed play umass, delaware, nova, non conference games against navy and army, etc. i dont know, it would be football only and we wouldnt have to fly to shteinholes like ypsilanti and bowling green.

i think what you really mean is that temple should move down and join the a-10.....that actually makes sense unlike whatever you are babbling about

that would make a lot of sense, but they already had their shot to move down and didnt do it

so here we are, making up pretend horrible conferences

Always wondered how they got kids to go there.  Most of the violations were against the tennis team but footbal program was also guilty of several infractions.

Justice Dept wants to know why there isn't an NCAA FB playoff system

QuoteWASHINGTON -- The Justice Department wants to know why the NCAA doesn't have a college football playoff system and says there are "serious questions" about whether the current format to determine a national champion complies with antitrust laws.

Ok, so even though I'm totally in favor of a playoff system, this doesn't seem like something that the feds need to be getting involved with at this point.  Smaller schools who have shown the ability to compete with the big boys are getting BCS bowl bids.  And typically at most, you've got like 2 maybe 3 schools getting ranked in the top 25 that have legit BCS bowl aspirations.  Seems like a witch hunt to me.  The gov't needs to find another way to waste my tax dollars.
