norms show was kind of funny. his weekend update stuff was generally good, the other stuff not so much. its the first show, im sure hell figure it out little by little. sepinwall pointed out that they could have about 5 minutes of material just by finding something stupid on espn each week and tearing it to shreds. works of the daily show and foxnews.

I figured there would be a little bit of that in there.  Would definitely make the show better if they did.

Yes, it's a weekly show.  And that's one thing I has going against it because anything that happens today in the sports world is considered "really old" by next Tuesday.

MDS

they film either sunday night or monday. did some jokes that were fairly recent.

i honestly dont see how this cant work if it goes on at midinight after colbert and follows the same model as the other 2 shows. 1 funny segement + 1 iffy sigment + filler with guest. maybe norm is too lazy.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

sepinwall's review of game of thrones:

if the show is anything like the books, which it's supposed to be, i recommend it highly even if you're not a 'fantasy' fan.

Is John King that guy whose hair looks like its painted on and he always uses that damn touch screen monitor?

He sucks.

MDS

yes and yes

cnn is terrible. they sit around hoping for someone to get assassinated or for a country to blow up.

:-D How true.

Anybody else catch The Borgias? I've only seen the first episode, but it looked pretty decent.

Diomedes

I've seen the ads for it on NYTimes.com.

For some reason I can't stand Jeremy Irons. I have no idea why. And so no, I haven't watched the Borgias and probably won't until it's out on DVD.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Diomedes

Perhaps it was his performance as the rich guy who did/did not kill his wife?  I forget the movie name.  Some rich people.
