you mean a point guard is a better perimeter defender than a forward?

you say this like its a given that a pg is always a better perimeter defender than a forward? you sure about that?

if the point guard can play any defense at all he is almost always going to be better because a bigger guy cant stay with quicker people on the outside....the fact that iguodala is even getting compared to jeru on the perimiter shows how good of a defender he is...add in the fact that he can d up out there as well as inside and you have one of the best all around defenders in the nba

he absolutely murdered carmelo a couple weeks ago...and who dont the best scorers score against...if people regularly stopped durant or kobe they wouldnt lead the league in scoring...he should make all nba defense this year

he has a realistic chance for first team but not probable....it would criminal if he didnt make the second team

well... he had by all accounts a career year last year, esp in rebounds and blocks and got a grand total of 2 votes by a panel of 30 coaches. His numbers are down across the board this year besides his TO's and assists--which dont mean squat for all defense so....put him jail now.

well they generally give the honors to guys on winning teams so he had little chance to make it last year...and stats matter of course but not on defense as much as offense...not so much with big men but permimeter defenders sometimes get on the teams just by their man to man success....because you can get steals and not be great defensively (allen iverson) or be a great defender and get no numbers (bruce bowen)

Reese pointing to points, rebounds, and assists as reasoning for making an all defensive team is just incredible...  I'm pretty sure Shane Battier never put up any big numbers in any of those categories and managed to make a few.

Reese you were arguing that Iguodala wouldn't help a contender... you're a farging ass clown.  Please refer to his time with Team USA when he wasn't a first or second option and the type of role he played.

well no kidding that great scorers score on people, but Iguodala is supposed to be the top tier lockdown guy.  That guy should be able to stop a top scorer once in awhile

look at sd's chart...he been lights out this year...and while he is off the charts this season due to having a real coach and players around him that are being taught defense he has shut down scorers in the past as well...and of course hes also been lit up by the greats...you cant stop them all the time...i dont know anyone who does...even bruce bowen who is regarded as one of the best man on defenders of the last 15 years didnt shut down kobe consistently
