both sequels are actually fantastic and better than the first. the reviews have been off the charts for each. how...didnt you know this.

Because neither movie appealled to me.  Disney has fallen into this habit of making sequels to movies that don't need sequels, although most of them tend to go straight to dvd....so maybe that should have clued me in that they weren't just putting out a crap product to make money.  Regardless, I couldn't even tell you what the 2nd one was supposed to be about but the 3rd one looked terrible from the previews.  Several of you seemed to enjoy it though, so that's cool.  It's still not something I'll go out of my way to watch.

So... 2 sequels over 16 years is "kept making sequels"?

I'm leery of sequels when they either come out too quickly (tells me that the movie sucks and they rushed to get it out because they're trying to cash in while the iron is still hot), or when they come out too far apart......like every 8 years (tells me that they didn't have any good ideas and needed to put out a movie that would attract people to the box office).  If a sequel comes out say 3-4 years after the original, then I might be interested.  I'm quirky when it comes to sequels though because most of them don't need to be made and more often than not, fail in comparison with the original.

ice grillin you

i havent seen any of the toy stories all i know is #3 got as good reviews and word of mouth as i can ever remember for a movie
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

it takes like 10 years for pixar to make a movie...hence the layoff between 1 and 2

add to the contractual obligations they had to make other movies and you get the layoff between 2 and 3

and again, theres isnt a person out there who didnt love ALL of these movies. not that i really care if you see them or not but your logic makes absolutely no sense in this situation. these movies are universally praised and all got off the charts reviews.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

What are you wearing?

Speaking of which, there's a documentary that's been on TV a lot lately about Pixar and the part that focuses on Toy Story 2 is really good.

So even documentaries about Toy Story 2 are good. Proving once again that Sarge's opinions are wrong.

So, when he opined that your scrotum was "breathtaking?" ...

There are certain universal truths that can be excluded from my comment, of course.

Oh...got sidetracked by this awesome sequel discussion and forgot the entire reason I clicked on this thread in the first place.

Watched my quarterly required chick flick with Drunkahontos the other day.  My choices were Sex and the City 2 or The Bounty Hunter.  Jennifer Aniston is still fun to look at.  Gerard Butler is pretty douchey.  The end.
