The Saints are the only team I am not worried about in the NFC picture.

so you're scared of the 7-9 we just won the worst division in the history of football seahawks but not the defending sb champs?

we have some real knowledgable football fans here

DH

just got this email from the eagles...

A limited number of Playoff tickets were returned by the visiting team.
These tickets will be made available today at 3 PM through ticketmaster.com.
We thank you again for your continued passion and support, Go EAGLES!

phattymatty

i put it in the tailgating thread but there are tickets available right now on ticketmaster.

I have no opinion either way.   I am getting poopy faced, however.

phillies will be under 500 this year...book it

I'm actually thinking the opposite of conventional wisdom.

Not sure the Eagles are going to win, but I expect it to be relatively low scoring.  23-17 would be my guess, and I do think Reid is going to try to establish some sort of a run game.  Yes, I'm sure I'm a fool for thinking that but I still believe it.

PoopyfaceMcGee

There is literally no chance that the Eagles hold the Packers to fewer than 20 points.  The books have the O/U for Packers points at 21.5 and the over on that is probably better than the game O/U or the spread.  Seriously, the Eagles defense is only good against the run, and the Packers are not a running team anyway.  It's strength on weakness.  Only hope the Birds have is to outscore the Packers and win the time of possession battle.

phattymatty

so the O/U is 21.5 and being 1.5 points under that is literally impossible. i see.

eagles win 35-17.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Reverse Freddie just doesn't have the same ring to it.  But I applaud you for your blind faith in this abhorrent defense.

So vegas sets a line that looks odd to you and you think there is no way it hits?   Vegas generally isn't in the business of giving away cash.

ice grillin you

the vegas number for the pack is that low because it should be extremely windy...i still dont see any chance for an under there but thats why it is what it is
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

PoopyfaceMcGee

If Aaron Rodgers breaks his penis in the 1st quarter and/or the game is played in a blizzard, it's certainly possible.  But the 21.5 screams "bet the under bet the under they can totally be held to 3 touchdowns or fewer!" which is a red flag regardless.  Tack on that this is the same Eagle defense that hasn't held the opposition to fewer than 24 points in a meaningful game since November 21 and set records for red zone awfulness, and it doesn't exactly give me the warm fuzzies.

I think that the Eagles can absolutely win this game but not in low-scoring fashion.

DH

enough with the spreads already. we get it - you like to gamble.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Well, this whole conversation started with Legendz admitting that his thinking was "against the conventional wisdom," so I guess we'll just leave it at that.  This Eagles team does not seem like a team capable of winning a defensive struggle.  But anything's possible.  MDS might even get laid this weekend.
