Wife took me into a cool store that specializes in wine the other night.  Opened a few years ago and just never got around to going. Place was awesome!  They also had a nice assortment of spirits.  Huge assortment of Tequila.

Can anyone recommend a good Tequila?  We just finished a bottle of Silver Patron.  I'd like to try something different.

Don, someone bought me a bottle of Patron Cafe over the summer. I don't usually go for that kind of stuff, but it was excellent. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Thanks.  I was like a kid in a candy store at this store.  They had stuff I'd never seen on the shelf.

We made Margaritas at my moms last night and each batch got progressively worse.  Around 12:30 someone said "shtein I'm  not even drunk." so we broke out a bottle of brandy.  Thank god the Mrs. was designated driver as Honolulu's finest was out in full force.

Got my kid a home brewing kid for Christmas (the full experience, not that candy-assed Mr. Beer travesty). We currently have a batch of Belgian tripel in the bottles, and we're looking forward to enjoying the final product in a few weeks.

I would not advise taking a shot of Dewars out of a bottle that's been open for more than 5 years unless you enjoy the taste and smell of turpentine.   Closest I've ever come to simultaneously shooting and vomiting in my life.

Oh shtein.  Yeah, we always err on the side of caution when we go to the parents house.  I'm sure there's booze in the cabinet from the King Kamehameha administration.

On the flip side, if the bottle is sealed it tastes just fine, as I can attest from a recent inheritance of a long forgotten liquor cabinet.  Crown Royal with a sealed paper tag dated 1976 was good, as was a similarly old bottle of JW Red.  Which, incidentally, went down just fine after a few, to the point where I wonder why in the hell I would ever spend more on a blend.  The bite is nice, it's husky and smoky and for the money, excellent Scotch.

My experience with Red is it was kinda harsh.  Was this not true because of the aging perhaps?
