I just bought 2 big boys of Crown Royal Black for the holidays. Sexiest bottle of alcohol on earth.

Went to Total Wine to see if they had 120 in stock....they did not, however they had the 2nd Dogfish beer I was seeking, the Burton Baton. Can't wait to try this.



Also was got a nice tip from an employee there to try Samuel Smith's Winter Welcome, said it's mucccccccch better then Michelob's attempt at a winter warmer, Winter's Bourbon Cask Ale.

The last batch of 120 was destroyed because of quality control issues, so it can't be found anywhere. They only just ramped up the next batch this fall, and they expect to bottle and ship in the spring.

Yeah I had read about the batch in the summer that got scrapped, and they were supposed to have another batch this december, but according to the guy at the store, this one hasn't turned out well either. They said there's still hope they get it in Jan 3rd, but if not it wouldn't be til spring

Hmm...maybe so. He seemed optimistic about the january date, but damn...that sucks.


They had the World Wide Stout there, which I was tempted to buy just because it's as strong/stronger than the 120, but I'm not generally a stout fan. Ever had some?

Yep...and it's pretty good. A little bit sweet to offset the high ABV (it's 18%, just like the 120). It's not one that you'd want to have more than one or two of, though.

Yeah, my issue with stouts is the coffee taste...I'm not a fan of coffee at all, and in beer it makes me show my vagina when I drink it.


Might have to try it anyway just to say I tried it.

Tried "The Knot" over the weekend. Interesting but I wouldn't buy a bottle.

Greatest thing going now in the world of booze is the cut rate 1.75 L bottles (equals 2 and a third bottles), often for just a few more bucks than a fifth and sometimes less than a 1 liter bottle.

Just picked up a 1.75L of JD black for $31.99 and Bombay Sapphire for $29.99 (a fifth is usually around $25). That's a lot of bang for the buck. I've noticed this for at least several months now.
