maybe they meant it was effective because it kept Vick from putting up 60, even if those tds were caught.

During the game they kept pointing out how the Giants were making Vick run go his right where he runs rather than pass, but there were times he had space to run to the left for a big gain if he had gone that way. They will see this on the tape and be able to exploit it next game.

I actually heard an analyst on NFL Radio say yesterday that the Giants controlled the tempo of the game.  I have to wonder what game he was watching because outside of a few minutes the Eagles did what they wanted to in that game.  And the fact that 90 of those yards came on McCoy runs at the end is even better.  We all have bitched for years about how the Eagles never run to close out games.

Despite the fact that the Giants lost they established a good game plan for the Vick-led Eagles offense and the Bears defense has the personnel to emulate that game plan. I see this as a total toss-up. Cutler is wild and chinless but he's certainly good enough to beat the Eagles defense. If the Bears contain Vick as well as the Giants did this is a game that will be within a touchdown the whole time.

Besides Julius Peppers, I don't know anybody on the Bears D-Line. If they were any good, the Bears D would probably have sacked QBs more than 19 times. For the season, the offenses the Bears have faced average 18.16 points per game, and 4 of their opponents (Panthers, Dolphins, Vikings, and Seahawks*) are in the bottom 6 of the league in that category. *Seahawks, one of the worst road teams in the past decade, beat the Bears in Chicago

The Bears are overrated and the Eagles will prove them to be the frauds they truly are

Their scoring offense is 25th in the NFL

90 of those yards came on two late McCoy runs. I'm talking about containing Vick and for 55 minutes of the game they kept the offense in check and limited them to 16 points. Vick had no room to move. Those drops were key of course, but what are we supposed to do? Discount the drops and say the Eagles actually scored 40 points when they didn't?

Aren't you discounting the 90 yards on McCoy runs for the same reason?

Same game Al Michaels and Collinsworth were.  Do these "experts" read the game stats?

I was surprised they handled the Giants as well as we did Sunday. The team is hot right now and the Bears IMO are not a team capable of stopping Vick. I just can't see it happening right now. This is a whole new team with Vick at QB.

The Giants did show the way to really slow Vick down, which is to blitz from his left and make him run right.  The Giants were getting good pressure on that side and when Vick runs right, he's not looking down field as much and is just tucking and running more.  I guess that's to be expected since he's a lefty, but I can't recall him throwing a single pass on Sunday when he ran to the right.  He's definitely got to keep his eyes downfield because I got a feeling the Bears are going to be pounding that side of the line all day.

The bears are just going to line up 11 guys over Jason Peters, I dont know why no one ever tried it before.

The New Vick will be prepared for that

Is New Vick like the New Testament? Less wrath and sacrifice, more hyperbolic stories about a pretty cool guy from dozens of sources?

I dunno, maybe, but an analyst about 10 posts ago was saying if Vick looked to run left there were lanes with a lot of room for a big gain and the Eagles would probably see this on tape for the next game and exploit it, so the Giants may not have found the answer.

The BIGSTUD

I keep hearing today that the Eagles always lose in Chicago, but didn't they win 2 of the last 3 there and possibly 3 of the last 4?

Won in 2004 with TO when he did the crunches. Won last season. I think they played in 2008 too and lost though, but I can't remember for sure.
