I loved the original (Swedish film so not many people heard of it or watch it) so I was dreading such a quick "American" remake but wow they hit it out of the park. Its everything the original is, some shots are exactly the same, but it adds to it. The kids are amazing in it. Incredibly talented kids with amazing performances. They made it scarier, more violent, and trimmed some of the fat but its still a slow paced 2 hr movie that is very sad and disturbing at its core. Rarely does a remake out do the original but this is the case. Its shot better, acted better, and only adds to the original movie/book.

For those who have not heard of it or know what is is about, the story is about a young female vampire and her friendship/love with a 12 yr old boy. But no its not Twilight. Its vampires done right.
